Reality Series ‘House of Streams’ Sees Streamers and Content Creators Battle for Bitcoin (EXCLUSIVE)

“House of Streams,” a reality series that merges traditional unscripted television with the world of online content creation, has been licensed for the U.K. and Ireland by Netflix.

The series will feature eight popular streamers and content creators living together in a villa for two weeks as they compete for a Bitcoin grand prize, currently worth $108,800. Sports and entertainment presenter Nicole Holliday, known for hosting major EA FIFA streaming tournaments and her work with Sky Sports, will host the show.

The series features a a live chat feature that allows viewers to engage directly with contestants.

“We held several rounds of casting sessions with streamers from all around the world over the span of two months,” said Mark Holland, creator and director of the series. “We screened each applicant and interviewed the first round of casting and invited only 13 for the second round. 12 were selected and after third round, we selected 8 and one streamer as backup.”

The eight contestants boast a combined social media following of over 4 million across platforms, representing diverse territories including the U.S., U.K. and Australia. They’ll face various challenges and competitive activities while viewers participate in real-time decision-making.

The project is produced by Stream House Media Productions (SHriMP) with backing from the Malta Film Commission. Camelot Films facilitated the Netflix deal and is handling promotion, with producer Luke Croft-Faulkner leading marketing efforts.

“‘House of Streams’ is exactly what the entertainment industry needs right now,” said Matt Hookings, founder, producer and CEO of Camelot Films. “A fresh, original concept born from the vision of an independent director/producer who was committed all the way to bringing it to life. As online streamers redefine influence and celebrity, ‘House of Streams’ marks a pivotal step in how audiences consume content.”

The format has already generated buzz within the streaming and gaming communities, positioning itself as a bridge between digital-first content and traditional television audiences, per the producers.

The show is set to premiere in the U.K. and Ireland on June 18.
